My national radio report for tomorrow, more detail (phone support, DOGE, Social
Security)

Tomorrow on my usual Monday national network radio tech segment, I'll
be discussing how people who are not skilled with computers (or don't
even have them, or Internet access), are being increasingly put at
risk by firms and government agencies reducing or even eliminating
telephone based support. A particular focus will be on the reported
effort by Elon Musk's DOGE to effectively eliminate telephone support
for Social Security recipients while closing around 50 SSA offices.
Many of these persons depend on SS checks every month to survive. Even
after blowback to this, DOGE (while reportedly no longer planning to
end all phone-based SSA support) still plans to require SS recipients
to use the Internet or make in person visits to deal with crucial
payment issues, which many of these recipients will be physically
unable to do.
