Australia: Labor vs. Liberal
In case you find it confusing, the party that just won the Australia
election is the "Labor" party, which is the left-oriented party. It
had been predicted to lose for months, but anti-Trump sentiment -- as
in Canada -- reversed this trend. Keep it up, Donald.
Notably, the "Liberal" party in Australia is the right-wing
conservative party.
This reversal of nomenclature compared with our U.S. understanding of
the terms is a simple consequence of Australia being in the southern
hemisphere and upside-down. -L
