JackL,

I believe this blog will take away from the purpose of the pfsense forums,
wiki, documentation, etc. Creating another site and asking forum members to
post information on another site takes away from the pfsense website. pfsense
already has a site that is a single point for all pfsense information and
splitting that information between multiple sites is not a good idea.

I really like the idea of a pfsense blog that can help gain community support
for pfsense within your community, however, you are asking forum users to
concentrate all the tutorials, tips, forum information, and more to a blog.

I do not agree with this idea and I think it's a bad move. I have BCC'd cmb
with this matter and included all PM traffic.

If I am wrong about this idea then cmb will be able to help with this and I
will learn from this.

cmb,

Below is past PM traffic from JackL and johnnybe. They have asked me to sticky
a topic (http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,42042.0.html) which instructs
users of the Portuguese Forum to concentrate all the tutorials, tips, forum
information, and more to a non-official blog. I have concern with this idea and
I am unsure how to proceed at this point.

Thank you both for your time.

Just to clarify, we are not asking for the official forum users to focus their
efforts in help and documentation in the pfSense blog
(http://www.pfsense-br.org/blog). We are just opening the possibility of a
public space for collaboration.

There are many users in the Brazilian community who produce articles and posts
with tips on pfSense and eventually published in 4shared, for example, not
having where to post. The official forum is undoubtedly the main source of help
collaborative project, but is not practical to publish this type of text.

In addition, we are planning to publish a calendar of events that address
issues on the pfSense and open to the public the threads of our discussion list
(http://lists.pfsense.org/mailman/listinfo/pfsense-pt).

Regardless of receiving a "sticky" for the post, we will proceed to format and
keeping the blog, after all have received the first posts (even before the blog
is officially published).

Thank you for your attention.

Abraços!
Jack
