The JDBC app works OK on XP but not Vista as well? In that case I'd
suspect a network issue with the Vista box. FWIW, the two times I ran
Vista on any real hardware (as opposed to VMWare), I had nothing but
trouble with the network interfaces. In both cases I rolled back to XP.
