Just did it 4 more times with the same result (freeze up and need to force quit). Prior to the last 2 times I turned off the Guru hints on the theory that might have something to do with it (since the Guru hints dialog always popped up between the time I clicked OK and the freeze up), but it still froze up.
Here is the command in the SQL tab (if I execute this from a SQL Editor window, there is no problem): ALTER TABLE conversion.ac_journalpost_rev_cc_0924y RENAME TO ac_journalpost_rev_cc_0924; pgAdminIII version in about window: Version 1.16.0 (Sep 7 2012, rev: REL-1_16_0) I forgot to mention last time (though I'm not sure it matters), that the server is version 8.4.11 on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) If this is any help, here are the "problem details" from the Window error dialog: Problem signature:Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: pgadmin3.exe Application Version: 1.16.0.99 Application Timestamp: 5049dad5 Fault Module Name: LIBPQ.dll Fault Module Version: 9.2.0.12250 Fault Module Timestamp: 50496af3 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00005d31 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.16.7 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789Read our privacy statement online:If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline:C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txthttp://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 Gary Giumarra DealerBuilt-Lightyear Dealer Technologies, LLC. ________________________________ From: Guillaume Lelarge <guilla...@lelarge.info> To: Gary Giumarra <ggiuma...@yahoo.com> Cc: pgadmin-support@postgresql.org Sent: Fri, September 28, 2012 10:43:35 AM Subject: Re: [pgadmin-support] On Wed, 2012-09-26 at 10:36 -0700, Gary Giumarra wrote: > > Renaming a table by right clicking on the table, selecting Properties... on > the > > contextual menu and then editing the Name field on the Properties tab and > then > clicking on the OK button will consistently cause a freeze up of the > pgAdminIII > > app. I have to then force quit the app using the Task Manager.
