AFAIK, the function should have to get executed in every node.. Another question is, which the result is to be.. For example,"select 2+2;" will return "4" on every node. But, " select now();" will return different values... Even (from the docs) as of pgpool-II 2.2, it detects tables with serials, and makes auto locks..
