I had trouble with PG under RH 5.0 too. After I switch to RH 5.1 where
everything seems to work fantastic, I read somewhere the package needed to
be rebuilt to work right under RH 5.0. Anyways, I never got a chance to
prove it, and I don't remember where I read it. Still, you should be able
to find the three current RPMs for RH 5.1 out there on the 'net. You'll
find the current version is better too.
postgresql-6.3.2-4.i386.rpm
postgresql-clients-6.3.2-4.i386.rpm
postgresql-data-6.3.2-4.i386.rpm
I believe RH 5.0 came with version 6.2.1, or something like that.
