[ADMIN] 8k tuple limit - i want it higher!

Ok, two days into this and I still can't find archives on how to increase 
my tuple limit.  Can anyone provide me with instructions on how to increase 
my tuple limit??  8k is not enough for our application - ok, enough for 
90%, but not the 10%.  I would like to at least double it.  Maybe there are 
drawbacks?  Any insight, and preferably instructions, you could provide 
this enthusiastic but new postgres user would be appreciated!
