[ADMIN] Date Formatting question

Hello all.

Is there a way to change the datestyle for a single select statement.  I
dont wnat to play around with PGDATESTYLE, for fear of messing with other
program we have using the database, and am not sure if set datestyle sets
the style for every database, or just the current database.

So, I am wondering if there is a way in which I can specify in the select
statement to retrieve the date as "SQL" (WHich I believe includes the time).
