[ADMIN] query length

Hi, 

I am a beginner in postgres and just started managing a postgresql6-5-3 on
our server. One thing I have been trying is to reload the previously
"dumped" data into the new system. One error msg I kept on getting is:

>PQsendQuery() -- query is too long.  Maximum length is 16382
>query buffer max length of 16384 exceeded

Can anyone give me some quick advice on how to change this setting? Thanks
