There is a file called "linux" in the "/usr/local/src/postgresql-7.3/contrib/start-scripts" directory (or whereever your postgres source is located). Just copy this file into "/etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql" and it should work.

'ello all.
I've just compiled postgresql from source.
It's running fine - but now I want to quickly add it to the Redhat /etc/rc.d/init.d services.
I can't find the postgresql file that is normally installed there from rpm installation anywhere - is there still one, and where on the net would I find it ?
Cheers
