[ADMIN] xml output

Hi, I'm new to postgres and have quickly read the doc, bought a book, 
but haven't seen if one can get an xml output from a SQL request....

is it possible to have something like "select blah1 blah2 from mytable1 
where blah45=thing12 as xml using formatfile" ?
