Is this a new install on a linux box? Try this: add a line that says "/usr/local/pgsql/lib" to the /etc/ld.so.conf file and then run ldconfig (do both as root) then try the createdb again as the postgres super user. ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 4: Don't 'kill -9' the postmaster
