This notice warns all PostgreSQL administrators that the recent security
release contained an issue which causes errors with variable-length data
types used with type constraints or expression indexes.  As such, 8.1 and
8.2 users are advised to wait and not update at this time

The PostgreSQL Global Development Group will be releasing new minor
versions for 8.2 and 8.1 within 24 to 48 hours.   7.3 and 7.4 users are not
affected and should upgrade.  Version 8.0.11 is probably not affected but
is still being tested further; your assistance with testing is
appreciated.

The PGDG regrets the confusion and any problems caused to users, and
testing procedures for security releases are currently being discussed on
the pgsql-hackers mailing list.  Thank you for your patience.
