I am a Linux user too. I just bought my children Windows laptops so it would be easier for them to use. I had to buy me a Windows one too so that I can do the whole Microsoft Family thing and monitor them a little. But I think it is time to throw them into the deep end and see if they can swim.

I'm a Linux user and I applaud your move. Just be aware you will not find an Access replacement on Linux.
