[GENERAL] Curosity question regarding "LOCK" NOWAIT

Has there been any discussion regarding adding a time-limited version of
NOWAIT, say: "WAITONLY 50" (milliseconds), when dealing the explicit LOCK
TABLE or the SELECT.FOR(SHARE|UPDATE) commands?
