[GENERAL] controlled switchover with repmgr

Hi

In a controlled switchover from master to slave with repmgr, what is the 
downtime timeframe? Seconds?
What is the internal process involved in a switchover with repmgr? Is the 
process all automated?  Will there be data loss?
