BTW, please patch these two files first and change PG_CONFIG = pg_config to PG_CONFIG= /postgresql/software/pg/9.6.2/bin/config (apologies if you did this already, I did not read the whole thread): Makefile: line 33 sql/Makefile: line 13 and run USE_PGXS=1 make at this point.
