[GENERAL] error starting postmaster

i just installed postgresql7.1 on a freebsd 4.3-stable machine.  and i
am able to start it with:

postmaster -D data

but when i try to:

createdb test

i get the following error:

/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libpq.so.2" not found

where can i get libpq.so.2?

TIP 2: you can get off all lists at once with the unregister command
    (send "unregister YourEmailAddressHere" to [EMAIL PROTECTED])
