The attached patch does that. Both error checks are unchanged, and it
passes here with and without your reproducer.
Thanks. We're in code freeze for 19rc1, but since this is a test-only
change, the test is new since the last beta, and the fix should make the
buildfarm more stable, not less, I committed this now.
