If the DBA have to improve the performance, DBA will need to know about: - Which SQL generate a disk sort? - Size of sorts. - Changing 'work_mem' value can reduce disk sorts? So, sometime DBA want to know about 'sorts', not temp files. However, I understand DBA must also care about temp files usage. I think both are required.
