That strikes me as a really bad idea.  It weakens both syntax and
semantic error checking, to accomplish how much?

Could use PHP-style thingy:

LIST(x, y) := r;

It's inconsystency :-(.

EXECUTE INTO and SELECT INTO use scalar of vectors without anything.
