Just in case there is initdb required in beta2, here is patch that adds txid into core.
Otherwise please register this as submission to 8.4. I'd like to avoid any process related discussions in the future... It is syned with the latest patch I sent to -patches. The docs are minimal, but I think first the /contrib doc should be fleshed out more. -- marko
