In the above examples the numbers are decimal values. Maybe you wanted to do something like the following: area=> select b'1111' & b'0111'; ?column? ---------- 0111 (1 row) ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 4: Don't 'kill -9' the postmaster
