Hello all,

first, congratulation to everybody who contributed, and very special thanks to Micah
for this tremendous achievement.

PicoGUI will be (after the linearN drivers are optimized) the only flexible GUI system
able to run with acceptable perfs on little configurations such as a 16MHz DragonBall
EZ. Having a mem+cpu - friendly GUI indeed allows to dramatically reduce the costs of
the hardware. It's the only way to go for volume (therefore low-cost) appliances. On
the other hand, on more powerful platforms, it is still nice to save these resources
for other things.

Another nice thing about PicoGUI is its good and modular design allowing to scale the
server for your need (it can even render on a VT100 terminal !).

Since more and more people try PicoGUI, why not make some announcement on both the
uclinux list (I think many people with low-cost hw still search for a GUI system) and
linuxdevices.com ? I'd suggest we let Fred (of Smartdata) first put some autoconf in
the CVS before the announcements. Then we could think about making a joint
announcement.

Best regards,

  Pascal
