Hello:

wow, some great things going on as the commits mailing list indicates.

I flashed my helio again, with the unofficial vtech linux ROM, the guy just
got back to me and informed me that VTech has got rid of everything related
to PDAs, I was interested in getting details leading to a sound driver.

After that, I compiled pgui for mipsel copied pgserver, omnibar-helio and a
couple of themes to a floppy and came to work, zmodem has problems with
large file so I used gzip and split to get them down, but once again JINX I
forgot that helio does not have libjpeg.so in the ROM :( Well I'll omit JPEG
support and recompile and zmodem it on the helio again.

I used UNIX Sockets, as the kernel with this ROM does not has TCP/IP,
managed to work on my desktop so will see when pgserver is up on how well it
works here.

Micah, can I upload this ROM to picolinux site for others to use:

pros:
* ram disk stays update through reboots, you never lose your data.
* zmodem works better, till aproximately 74kB @ 9600 bps, 53 kB @ 19200 bps
* does not has tpcal (the generated file copied over works fine)
* date ..... command works to once set date/time

cons:
* does not has pgui as default
* need to transfer all pgui stuff via zmodem to ram disk
* can not show battery life (/proc entry not present)

other:
* has microwindows, so you need a script to kill that first and launch pgui:
i.e. pgserver, omnibar, etc.

regards,
-tasnim
