Hi Everybody,

We need a new admin for the Pico/Linux project, the linux distrobution (currently
targeted at the Helio) featuring PicoGUI. I started the project when i ported picogui
to the Helio, but i haven't had any time to seriously maintain it. Right now the
project is suffering from several problems:

1. Lack of communication between developers
2. Disorganized source tree
3. No real admin

This project is in need of a good administrator. If you or anyone you know would be up
to the job, please respond to this post.

IMHO, the following things need to be done to the picolinux project (in order of
priority) if it has any chance to survive:

1. Get a better build system. I would recommend buildroot, written by Erik Andersen,
and in use on the Tuxscreen and OpenZaurus projects. It is a system of makefiles that
will build a romdisk and kernel from scratch, downloading and compiling all source
from CVS or HTTP. This would eliminate the major headache of manually recompiling
binaries for the distro.

2. Organize the kernel. Right now we've got a messy hacked up kernel in CVS. We need
to reduce this to a set of patches that buildroot can apply against a standard
linux-vr kernel.

3. Adapt the system to build romdisks and kernels for multiple handhelds, so the code
will be of interest to more people

4. Get more people interested in the project who have kernel hacking and distro
building experience

Hopefully someone will step forward and keep the Pico/Linux project alive.
