Hi Everybody,

I just got news from Chuck Groom that he's continuing the work John started on a
faster textbox widget. PicoGUI's current Textbox widget is very flexible, but also
eats a lot of memory. The designs John and Chuck have been working on sacrifice
flexibility for speed. It remains to be seen whether we can integrate the extra
formatting capabilities into the new textbox (any textbox that supports text
formatting and embedded widgets should be usable as a word processor or web browser)
or whether we'll have to have two textbox widgets.

Anyway, it looks like chuck's planning on implementing clipboard support in the near
future for this textbox. This got me thinking about clipboard support in picogui in
general. It would be easy to simply have one pgserver-owned handle representing the
clipboard. Apps could 'give' a handle to pgserver for storage in the clipboard, or
retrieve a copy of it, optionally converted to a different format. But we might need
something more complicated.. automatic type negotiation between the clipboard owner
and clipboard user would be nice, but that's hard to do after the clipboard owner has
exited, unless you store the clipboard contents in pgserver in multiple formats.
