Are you using the libs from pgui-arm-20020224.tar.gz, or ones from CVS? 
pgui-arm-20020224.tar.gz is a bit dated. I'm working on some ipkgs right
now based on current CVS.

linux-generic should work for cross-compiling or building directly on
the ARM itself. If you cross-compile, be sure to use
--with-prefix=arm-linux as an option to ./configure.
