Idea from cli_python:

if you're ditching PGDEFAULT, then you'll have to have a widget parameter in
each and every call. Instead of this being the handle, it could be a struct
that, in cli_c2, has a pointer to the server, the handle, and any other
information the author of cli_c2 deems necessary. In cli_c++ of course this
would be a class that has these data and the widget methods.
