I had to hack up the vr3ts driver quite a bit for input filters.. I had no way to test it, but I guess if it works for you that's good :)
One thing I just thought of is the calibration... are you using a new version of tpcal? (It was broke for a while after I merged input filters) Could be there's a default calibration that works on your VR3 but not others.
