the problem was caused through a missing loopbackdevice in my Z. i came across a gethostbyname call in pgInit. the zaurus couldn`t ping itself. a "ifup lo" solved the connection problem....... sorry for spamming you guys :)

but, the app on the zaurus, can`t connect to the pgserver on the Z. there is no error message or something, just nothing happens and the app hangs in pgInit();
i really hope anyone can give me a hint where the problem is, since i need to get this thing finished.
