Hi Everybody,
A few days ago on the way home from work I had a little brainstorming
session about Om, the object model behind pg2. I wrote it down here:
http://navi.picogui.org/svn/picogui/trunk/om/doc/ideas
Also, it's been a while since we've had any real development discussion
here. This is an update on what's going on with pg2:
- Work on pgbuild continues, somewhat slower than I'd hoped. It's
still not quite capable of actually compiling anything, but the
configuration database is turning out nicely.
- After PGBuild works, the next step will be writing at least the
Abstract Protocol and some protocols and translators for C and
Python.
- Then, I plan on starting pg2 itself. The initial version will be
prototyped in python. That should make it relatively quick and easy
to have a proof-of-concept for the new design.
- After the prototype is built, its Om modules can be individually
replaced with modules written in C
There are a few things happening with pg1 too:
- It will benefit from pgbuild of course, when that's working
- I received a Zaurus C700 for PicoGUI porting, so I'll probably go
ahead and update the OpenZaurus packages.
