Yes, the perl regexp looks ok.  I've actually changed it to be

  if (/FONT_([\w]+)([\s=]+)) {

which actually ends at the occurance of \s or = characters.

Moving on, I have now managed to successfully get the server to run.  But,
when I run the tutorial helloworld file, all I get is garbage on my
screen.  To be exact, all the 'text' comes out as little boxes -- as if
the font was not found.  I have compiled in all internal BDF fonts.

Any ideas?
