I don't exactly know, I didn't test it on the target system, but as I compiled gtk on my development machine, I had the impression that there are many dependencies, like pango, freetype, ... and the whole thing will become big. GTK is very compfortable and supports many things I really don't need, that's why I would like s. th. smaller. - I know that for example the size of the packages doesn't always say too much about the size and speed of the resulting binary, but it at least a bit I think... This was just an impression I didn't have with picogui... I didn't take a closer look to matchbox, but I will check it out. Thanks.
