What's wrong with tinyx/kdrive and gtk? -> To big, (Widgets do not fit for a screen size of e.g. 128 x 128)
try Evas from enlightenment.org ? -> To big (what about Widgets ?) Matchbox ? -> is NOT a GUI...it uses also tiny-X and is used in GPE-Project as a launcher-app The problem is, that we are looking for a GUI solution, which is small (that means < 500 k) wich does NOT have dependencies to any big libs like imlib, xlib, gtk, pango etc. or works with X (even tinyX is to big to fit on a small embedded device with 4 MB Flash/8 MB RAM). PicoGui is a modular design which provides also useful widgets and a robust client/ server principle. In addition to that, the consequently separation between content and presentation (theming capabilities) is the coolest thing (but no good description for that) within PicoGui. This can be used to modify the look and feel for a mobile device. At least Escali did a good job starting to create a Smartphone Platform using PicoGui, but they did not find a vendor for that (that's pitty) and the sources are not available to create a competitor to commercial product like Symbian/MS-Mobile/Qt-Phone-Edition. This is what Pico-Gui could be used for... cu Claus -----Ursprngliche Nachricht----- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Gesendet: Dienstag, 23. I don't exactly know, I didn't test it on the target system, but as I compi= led=20 gtk on my development machine, I had the impression that there are many=20 dependencies, like pango, freetype, ... and the whole thing will become big= =2E=20 GTK is very compfortable and supports many things I really don't need, that= 's=20 why I would like s. th. smaller. - I know that for example the size of the= =20 packages doesn't always say too much about the size and speed of the=20 resulting binary, but it at least a bit I think... This was just an=20 impression I didn't have with picogui... I didn't take a closer look to matchbox, but I will check it out. Thanks. I'd use it as display for motor controllers, and probably also to provide a desktop GUI.
