on MacOSX, you can use the Pharo Installer which normally takes care of everything: https://ci.inria.fr/pharo-contribution/job/PharoLauncher-Mac-Package/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/pharo-ci/Pharo%203.0.0.dmg According to some users, the latest MacOS has a problem with unsigned packages.
