Agreed. This is cool.
One thing: the 'more' when longer than 8 characters is a bit confusing:
I'd prefer just ... (three dots). Or, even better, allow for a longer
uncut word (20 ?) and, if longer, cut in the middle with '...' (keep
beginning and end of the word).
