it would be nice if print was removed completely and instead be replaced
with an embedded inspector, but then thats just a dream of mine of
workspace , system browser and inspector integrated >in one tool and one
GUI.
I have no problem that people invent new approaches but not at the
expenses of breaking working flow.
And I do not see how what you propose can help me in my case.

Hi,
The solution we agreed upon was integrated since quite some time now.
Here is the last discussion I know of...
http://forum.world.st/when-Cmd-P-can-just-display-a-string-in-the-debugger-td4909831.html
Try this:
- type 42
- press Cmd+p
- press Cmd+p
<snip>
Stef, does that work for you?
One minor improvement could be leaving the inserted result unselected
and instead place the cursor to the left of the inserted result, ready
to type " equals: "
The inserted result doesn't need to remain selected to be easy to
delete, since the user could already have used <Backspace> to delete the
popup.

Hi
this is nearly more than a year that I ask if we can have a way to
NOT have "" when we print a result in the tool.
What is the status?
This %#$&^$&*(&)**&^$%#$&%*^&( popup BREAKS the flow when writing
tests. I'm FED UP to have to remove the " at the beginning and end of
my expression result.
We got an long discussion and now how it is handled?
I have the impression that the strategy here is to make sure that
people believe that they are heard but do not care.
