we should come up with a list of such methods and kill them either by
fixing them or removing them.
MVC got some of them.

Some packages contain code with _ in class-side initialize methods. If
you change these methods Monticello executes them. Unfortunately some
of these methods are broken or can't be executed properly, so it is
not possible to load the changed package.
A quick and easy fix would be just to get rid of _ in all remaining
other methods for now.
