How esug can help?
Not that I know... what is important for the future is that the
infrastructure is in one hand.
What killed us this time was the mixup between Squeak eV, me, the real
admins (who actually do a real good
job...) and SqF. If everything would be handled by SqF (money wise)
and the admins, everything
would be fine.

here's what I wrote to janko:
That's a long story.
The server had some problems on-and-off over the last two months. I
contacted multiple times the hoster and did not get any answer. Last
Friday I found out that the hoster always answered, but send the
answer to the board of Squeak e.V. (who is the paying the server
since 1.5 years).
So I am not on the board of Squeak e.V, and the current board did
not forward any emails to me, because they thought I would get them.
So that was resolved on Friday, and Hetzner did a hardware check
directly Friday evening. The result was that they exchanged the RAM
of the server.
Now the problem: the server rebooted, but in some strange state
(ping works, ssh login does not work).
As I do not have an account, I could not test it. And so we only
realized this Saturday late evening when Ken tried to log in. Now
at hetzner,
we do not have free sunday support, so a reboot had to wait till
monday morning.
The reboot was done, but the server is in the same state. As I have
no passwd, I could not check that, so I only 1h ago could contact
hetzer again.
==============
So another reboot was done. ssh up, but does not let anyone in.
Now we have the offer of getting a login console to the hardware to
check what is wrong, but I don't have the passwd, so I can only wait.
All in all, a really bad situation.
