rome is a new api for rendering image and text.
the idea is to offer a common api and several backends
one would balloon
another would be cairo/pango
a third one could be morphic30 primitives
the idea is to get rome working with the vm primitives and/or balloon
then to get it working with cairo via the ROME plugin
then we could start to migrate the system to use this api.
