Release testing is not up to snuff. It is very difficult to use tutorial as nobody bothers to update them to the 'newest' pharo or seaside. There should be a method of maintaining documentation, blogs, tutorials, etc. This is very tall order. Definitely, deprecated methods should say so until a point where they are archived. Take most any tutorial that is more than 2 years old, and it would not function or has problems. As to eclipse, it is free and I found a free ide for C# http://www.coderun.com/ide/
