The new Metacello Scripting API[1] does exactly that and more:

Metacello new
  configuration: 'NativeBoost';
  squeaksource: 'NativeBoost';
  load.

does what you want ... there are additional shortcuts that you can use once you
have a project loading in your image ... I am looking for some folks to take
the Metacello Preview[2] (which includes the Metacello Scripting API) for a
spin to give me feedback from real usage before releasing it ... so I'd love to
hear from you ...

Of course the preview doesn't work on Pharo2.0 ... yet ... I've got several
stacked up in front of me before I'll be able to tackle getting the preview to
run on Pharo2.0 .... it seems that the preview is hit hard by the RPackage bugs
and I know that I've got more FileSystem porting to do as well:(

| I hate typing "sooo much" when loading a configuration. So how about
| integration part of that into Gofer?

| Gofer new
