Dear all,
We are pleased to announce the exciting Lent 2013 term card for the Cambridge
WiP Group:
Thursday 30th January 11am - 12pm (with lunch with the speaker afterwards).
Miranda Fricker: "Fault and No-fault Responsibility for Implicit Prejudice:
Towards Epistemic Agent Regret"
Location: Barbara White Room, Newnham College.
Tuesday 18th February 11am to 12pm (with lunch with the speaker afterwards).
Jules Holroyd: TBC
Location: Barbara White Room, Newnham College.
Wednesday 5th March 11am to 12pm (with lunch with the speaker afterwards).
Pamela Sue Anderson: "'Epistemic injustice' in feminist Philosophy of Religion"
Location: Barbara White Room, Newnham College.
Everybody - from any department or gender - is welcome to attend. The fact that
the group is open to all is important to us. We are still discussing whether to
retain the current name of the group (Women in Philosophy), or change it (to
something like Gender and Philosophy) and we hope to be in touch with dates for
future discussions. We have decided to start having (at least annual) meetings
in which we, and future organisers, discuss the aims of the group, so that this
issue is kept alive and debated. As ever, we welcome any thoughts on this;
please do email or talk to any of us.
WIP is a cross-departmental group for undergraduates, graduates and faculty
supported by the Philosophy and HPS Faculties that aims to provide a forum for
networking and celebrating the work that women philosophers are doing here at
Cambridge and elsewhere. For more information, see
http://www2.phil.cam.ac.uk/news_events/Women_in_Philosophy_Society.html
If you have any questions, please feel free to reply to this email.
All the best,
Ellen Judson, Magali Krasny, Lena Robaszkiewicz, and Ella Whiteley
