26th April, 9am-late 27th April, 9am-1pm Boys Smith Room, St John's College, Cambridge Key-note Speaker: Gonzalo Rodriguez-Pereyra Speakers: John Marenbon, Gabriele Galluzzo, Matthew Tugby, Christophe Erismann, Caterina Tarlazzi, Evan King, Sydney Penner, Ankur Barua, Adam Caulton, Jan Plate, Laura Porro, Robert Trueman, Carlo Rossi, Michael Clark An interdisciplinary conference on the problem of universals. We shall explore what seems to be (but might not be) the same problem in different traditions and different areas of the same tradition (including Ancient, Mediaeval, Byzantine, Early Modern Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, Analytic Philosophy, and philosophy from outside the tradition that goes back to Plato and Aristotle). Attendance is free, although places are limited. Lunches and refreshments are provided.
