Dear all,

Please join us for the CamPoS (Cambridge Philosophy of Science) seminar

Wednesday 21st 1-2:30pm in the Dept of History and Philsophy of Science,
Seminar Room 2.

Jonathan Birch (Cambridge/LSE) will give a talk entitled "Kin Selection,
Group Selection and Human Sociality". The abstract is below.

Best wishes,

Christopher

Abstract:

In the first half of the talk, I outline (informally) a general picture of
the relationship between 'kin selection' and 'group selection'. In the
second half, I consider how these ideas apply in a human context, and I
explore the possibility that a previously neglected process of 'cultural
kin selection' may have operated in our ancestors.
