1-2pm (tea and coffee from 12.30) Room G21, Faculty of Classics, Sidgwick site Dr. Sophia Connell (Cambridge): Aristotle on Female Animals: A study of the _Generation of Animals_ In her new book, _Aristotle on Female Animals_, Dr. Connell brings out the complex and positive role played by the female in Aristotle's thought, shedding new light not only on Aristotle's account of reproduction and generation, but also on hylomorphism, teleology and Aristotle's sexism. _Aristotle on Female Animals: A study of the Generation of Animals_ was recently published by Cambridge University Press. Copies of the book will be available for browsing from 12.30, before Dr. Connell's presentation and discussion starts at 1pm.
