Dear all, The philosophy of science reading group will continue to run this term. Anyone interested in philosophy of science is welcome to join, and no background is required.
Last term the meeting took place on Fridays, 1-2pm, in the faculty of philosophy at Sidgwick Site. Part of the aim of this email is to check whether this time still works for people. For our first meeting this term, which will take place next week, we will look at ‘Reading Nature: Realist, Instrumentalist, and Quietist Interpretations of Scientific Theories’ by P. Kyle Stanford. Online access: http://www.oxfordscholarship.com/view/10.1093/acprof:oso/9780195145649.001.0001/acprof-9780195145649-chapter-5. The tentative plan is to work through the rest of the essays in philosophy of science from this recent collection (edited by Lawrence Sklar), but other suggestions are always welcome. Please send me an email if you plan on joining this term, and let me know whether 1-2pm, Friday is a good time for you. Thank you and I hope that you have a great term. Best wishes, Anne (hd399) _____________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the CamPhilEvents mailing list, or change your membership options, please visit the list information page: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEvents List archive: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEventsArchive Please note that CamPhilEvents doesn't accept email attachments.
