Dear all,

Many thanks to the response to my last email! Due to the difficulty in
booking a room in this busy term, the reading group will continue to
meet on Fridays from 1pm to 2pm at the philosophy faculty. All are
welcome, and apologies to those who prefer another time.

Our next meeting takes place this Friday, 26th Jan, 1-2pm, in the
graduate common room at the philosophy faculty (Raised Faculty Building,
Sidgwick Avenue). As mentioned in my last email, we will discuss
‘Reading Nature: Realist, Instrumentalist, and Quietist Interpretations
of Scientific Theories’ by P. Kyle Stanford
(http://www.oxfordscholarship.com/view/10.1093/acprof:oso/9780195145649.001.0001/acprof-9780195145649-chapter-5).

The tentative plan is to work through the rest of the essays in
philosophy of science from this collection edited by Lawrence Sklar.

Future emails about the reading group will be posted via the reading
group’s mailing list. Please let me know if you wish to be added onto
the mailing list, and/or have any suggestions.

Thank you.

Best wishes,
Anne (hd399)
